COME OUT AND EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF YOGA ON THE WATER!
I have been practicing yoga for over 25 years and teaching for four. I love SUP yoga because it offers three added components to the already great benefits of yoga:
CORE: Since you always have to balance, your core remains engaged most of the time. Core muscles are very difficult to isolate and train on land and are so important to our health and well being. On the water, you are naturally engaging them for most of the class, so they get stronger, faster.
STRESS: The water is a natural stress reducer…. need I say more?
FOCUS: The added balance needed, and the soothing calm of being out on the water and in nature allow for a greater focus on the present moment. In a way, we are meditating during the whole class, because if the mind wanders, we can fall in! Meditation is known to increase focus so this important muscle get’s a much needed workout.
Today there are so few options for getting together for a practice. SUP yoga allows for social distancing and being outdoors where the air is fresh and safe.
If you are a beginner to yoga or SUP, my 8-10 week course beginning June 26th is perfect for you! We will start with the basics of both and progress over the summer. For more experienced yogis… break the monotony and try it on a SUP! I guarantee you will feel newly challenged, and you can always advance or modify as needed!
